What cookies are
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information that are stored on the user’s computer or mobile device when visiting a website. On each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the website that set them (first-party cookies) or to another domain (third-party cookies) and recognised by it. Scope of this policy
This Cookie Policy applies to the following websites operated by PrivacyRise:
- privacyrise.com — corporate website
- roadto.ai-act.co.uk — informational landing page on AI Act compliance and the AI Ethics Officer role
- roadto.nis2-directive.co.uk — informational landing page on NIS2 compliance and the outsourced Point of Contact
These sites are configured differently, and we describe them separately because the consequences for you differ. The corporate website uses analytics cookies subject to your consent; the two informational landing pages set no cookies at all. Each domain is also configured independently: preferences expressed on one site do not carry over to the others, because they are stored locally in your browser and tied to a single domain.

Why we use cookies
Cookies allow privacyrise.com, part of the PrivacyRise network, to “remember” users for the duration of the visit (session cookies) or across multiple visits (persistent cookies). Cookies can serve different functions: some are essential and let you browse effectively and retain the preferences you have expressed (such as your consent choices); others, activated only with your consent, allow us to measure how the site is used.
How we use cookies
We use cookies while you browse the privacyrise.com website. Strictly necessary technical cookies, required to deliver the site and the services you request (for example load balancing and security for the contact form), do not require your consent. Analytics cookies are instead activated only with your consent, given through the banner displayed on your first visit and modifiable at any time. No marketing or personalisation cookies are currently in use.
The use of cookies by PrivacyRise complies with applicable law, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) in the United Kingdom, the ePrivacy rules in the European Union, and the UK and EU GDPR, which allow the use of these technologies for certain legitimate purposes, such as technical storage for the time strictly necessary to transmit a communication or to provide a specific service requested by the User, who can always object to the processing of their data in the ways listed in the privacy policy.
Our informational landing pages with no cookies
The roadto.ai-act.co.uk and roadto.nis2-directive.co.uk portals are built to inform, not to track. They set no cookies of any kind, store nothing in your browser’s localStorage, and run no analytics, measurement or advertising tools. Because nothing is stored on your device and nothing stored there is accessed, the consent requirement under regulation 6 of PECR is not engaged, and no cookie banner is displayed. This is a deliberate design choice: we consider a consent request pointless where there is nothing to consent to.
You can read these pages, follow the compliance journey and consult the FAQs without providing any information about yourself. The only point at which we collect personal data is the contact form used to request the downloadable guide: there, you actively enter your details and choose whether to receive our communications. That processing is governed by our privacy policy, not by this Cookie Policy, and it is entirely separate from any cookie-based tracking, which we do not carry out on these portals.
Cookie management information and how to disable cookies
On privacyrise.com you can change your choices at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of the site, which reopens the consent management panel. The two informational landing pages have no such panel, because they set no cookies to be managed.
In addition, you can always accept all cookies, be informed about their use, or disable them by changing the settings of your browser. Please note that if you decide to disable or remove cookies from your browser, this may make some parts of the site inaccessible and browsing less functional. Types of cookies
The categories below describe the cookies used on privacyrise.com. They do not apply to roadto.ai-act.co.uk and roadto.nis2-directive.co.uk, where no cookies are set.
Strictly necessary (technical) cookies
Technical cookies are strictly necessary to ensure normal browsing and use of the privacyrise.com website. They are essential and may be used without the user’s consent. On this site they include the security and load-balancing cookies of embedded services (the Brevo contact form) and the storage, via localStorage, of the consent preferences expressed by the user.
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are used to statistically analyse visits to the site through Google Analytics 4. They serve statistical and performance-measurement purposes and are activated only with the user’s consent, which can be withdrawn at any time from the “Cookie Preferences” panel. Data is collected through Google Analytics’ European endpoint.
Marketing and personalisation cookies
No cookies in these categories are currently in use on any of the websites covered by this policy. The categories are shown in the preferences panel on privacyrise.com in anticipation of possible future features (for example embedded videos or campaign measurement); should they be activated, this policy will be updated beforehand.
Embedded third-party services
Some features of the site are provided through third-party services embedded in our pages, such as the contact form (Brevo – sibforms.com). The cookies listed in the table for such services are set directly by the respective providers, which independently determine their characteristics, duration and purposes: they are technical in nature (security and load balancing), strictly necessary to deliver the requested service and therefore exempt from consent.
For this reason, such cookies cannot be governed through this site’s “Cookie Preferences” panel: the selection made in the banner has no effect on them, as they are set when the relevant service loads, regardless of the categories accepted or refused. The only way to prevent their installation is not to use the services concerned or to block third-party cookies through your browser settings.
